She was born into an average-income family living in Los Angeles and had big goals for her future. Her mom loved watching films and cultivated a passion for movies in her daughter too. Paula participated in co-curricular school activities, and she loved drama in particular. She loved acting in stage plays with her friends. She was a part of numerous performances at the high school of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School which led her to choose acting as a career. She was part of The University of Southern Cali's summer program, and enjoyed tremendously. She signed a 3-month contract to develop documentaries for PBS. After completing the assignment, she began working as a production assistant for TV documentaries. After that, she moved on to producing documentaries. Although she enjoyed her career, she longed to be an actor. Her acting journey began through a tiny role on the movie romantic comedy Hitch along with Will Smith. Since then she's appeared in a number of well-known television and film shows.
